Humana Challenge also unveils new Facebook and Twitter pages
LA QUINTA, CA – 2012 Humana Challenge tickets, beginning as low as $20, volunteer information and registration, and an assortment of tournament information can now be obtained in a convenient, user-friendly manner through the PGA TOUR golf event’s brand-new website, www.HumanaChallenge.com, which was introduced this week.
The 2012 Humana Challenge is a four-round, 72-hole event that takes place Jan. 16-22 at PGA WEST’s Palmer and Nicklaus Private Courses and La Quinta Country Club.
Fans have plenty of incentive to purchase Humana Challenge tickets in advance. One Day Grounds tickets – providing grounds admission at the Humana Challenge – purchased prior to Jan. 1 are $20, a $5 dollar savings from $25 price beginning Jan. 1 and at the gate. One Day Clubhouse tickets – providing grounds and clubhouse admission at the Humana Challenge – can be purchased for $40 before Jan. 1, a $10 savings from the normal price of $50 beginning Jan. 1 and at the gate.
The best fan bargain lies in the weekly ticket specials. A Full Week Grounds badge with preferred parking at PGA WEST can be secured for $80 before Jan. 1, or $100 beginning Jan. 1. A Full Week Clubhouse badge with preferred parking at PGA WEST can be purchased for $150 before Jan. 1, or $175 in the New Year. Tickets can be ordered online or by calling 1-888-672-4673.
HumanaChallenge.com is a sophisticated, easily-navigated website containing the latest news with the Coachella Valley’s only PGA TOUR event and volunteer information and registration forms for those interested parties.

Tournament week is designed to bring the idea of “participatory wellness” to life for people of all ages and will feature a first-ever national conference focused on health and well-being on Tuesday, Jan. 17, highlighted by a keynote address from President William J. Clinton. The Bob Hope Legacy Pro-Am will be held Monday, Jan. 16 at the Palmer Private Course at PGA WEST and The Couples Challenge Pro-Am will take place Wednesday, Jan. 18 Palmer Private Course at PGA WEST.
The Humana Challenge features a field of 144 PGA TOUR professionals and 144 amateurs, including celebrities. The first three rounds of the four-day tournament will be played in a pro-am format, with the pro-am teams consisting of one professional and one amateur playing in groups of four. Round four will feature professionals only. The tournament will continue to honor and celebrate the legacy of Bob Hope.
The Humana Challenge’s defending champion is Jhonattan Vegas, who shot 27-under-par 333 in regulation and outlasted 2011 FedExCup champion-to-be Bill Haas and Gary Woodland in a two-hole, sudden-death playoff to win his first PGA TOUR title and become the first of six PGA TOUR rookies to win in 2011. Live and replay tournament coverage will air on Golf Channel.
During the past 52 years, the Humana Challenge has generated more than $50 million in donations to charities throughout the Coachella Valley, primarily the Eisenhower Media Center.
