Scottsdale, Ariz. (November 7, 2011) – Troon,® the leader in upscale golf course management, development and marketing is pleased to announce that Lion Lake Country Club has been named among the “Top 10 Golf Clubs” in China and its Moon Course has been named among the country’s “Top 10 Golf Courses” by Golf Digest China.
Located approximately 45 minutes northwest of Guangzhou, China – the country’s largest golf market, Lion Lake Country Club currently has 27 holes open for play with magnificent clubhouse and driving range facilities. When fully complete, the property will feature 36 holes of championship golf, two five-star resorts and convention centers, yacht club, hot springs, cultural center, and a high-end residential community. Sheraton Hotels & Resorts will operate one of the luxurious resorts, which will feature 350 rooms and is scheduled to open late 2011.

The 18-hole Moon Course and nine-hole Moonlight Course at Lion Lake were designed by American golf course architect Rick Jacobson, whose designs have been highly acclaimed by Golf Digest and Golfweek magazines. The Moon Course at Lion Lake has also received awards from Golf Vacations and Golf Magazine. While both courses at Lion Lake represent two different styles, each course utilizes the area’s natural surroundings and unique water features to bring them together in harmony.
Lion Lake currently features a new three-story, 160,000 square-foot Southern California-style clubhouse equipped with a golf shop, two restaurants specializing in Chinese and western cuisine, five private dining rooms, grand ballroom and a full-service spa. The facility also includes a 25,000 square-foot practice facility featuring the Troon Golf Academy.
