SAN DIEGO, CA – Heritage Golf Group, LLC, a leading owner and operator of premier golf properties across the country, raised approximately $32,000 to benefit Birdies for the Brave during an October 23rd & 24th event at TPC Eagle Trace (Coral Spring, FL). The charity provides much needed support to members of the United States Armed Forces and their families and is a primary element of Heritage Golf Group’s philanthropic endeavors.
The event at TPC Eagle Trace was highlighted by a welcome reception on Sunday night, complete with a silent auction, live auction, and guest speakers from multiple represented charities. Jason Martinez, Channel 10 News Anchor was the guest Master of Ceremonies. On Monday, the golf tournament featured over 90 participants, including numerous military personnel from the Greater Fort Lauderdale and Miami areas. The event finale included a luncheon, an awards ceremony and a raffle. This year’s tally nearly matched the club’s 2010 donation of more than $33,000 to Birdies for the Brave.
“TPC Eagle Trace is honored to contribute to Birdies for the Brave and thankful for the work they do on behalf of our military and their families,” said Bryan Stone, General Manager of TPC Eagle Trace. “As always, our members and the local community provided great support for this event, showing their gratitude for our men and women in uniform and the sacrifices they make on a daily basis.”
TPC Eagle Trace is one of nine Heritage Golf Group properties to host Birdies for the Brave fundraisers this year, with the final event scheduled for November 19-20 at TPC Tampa Bay. From 2008-2010, the Heritage Collection of Clubs donated more than $1.4 million to Birdies for the Brave.
Proceeds benefit numerous military homefront groups as part of the Department of Defense’s America Supports You initiative.
