More than $100,000 raised since 2003 directly benefitting area children
(MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.) – Mystical Golf, owner and operator of the award-winning The Witch, Man-O-War and The Wizard golf courses, announces its eighth annual Christmas Child Golf Tournament will be held on Saturday, December 17.
All proceeds directly benefit kids at the Lighthouse Care Center of Conway and Lighthouse Care Center of Augusta, Georgia. Additionally, due to the continued success of the tournament, children at a care facility in Surfside Beach will benefit this year as well. With last year’s event bringing in over $14,000, more than $100,000 has been raised since 2003.
The Lighthouse facilities care for 180 children from the ages of 12-17 suffering from behavioral disorders. Funds generated provide activities as rewards for good conduct including a trip to Carowinds Amusement Park, monthly visits to a local theatre and an annual trip to the Alabama Theatre Christmas Show. Additionally, as a Christmas gift, kids are presented with a new pair of sneakers of their own choosing.
“Our annual Christmas Child golf tournament is the most important event on our calendar at Mystical Golf,” says Claude Pardue, President and CEO. “The generosity of our attendees and community assist greatly in directly rewarding children for good behavior as they find the right path for a successful life.”
This year’s event will once again be played on The Wizard and Man-O-War golf courses with lunch provided. The format is Captain’s Choice. Prizes with be awarded for “Longest Drive” and “Closest to the Pin.” Raffle and mulligan packages will be available for purchase. The cost is $65 per player or $260 per team. Hole and green sponsorships are available for $100 each, or $345 per team. The entry deadline is December 9.
Says Pardue, “Our goal is to one day bring joy to children at all nine Lighthouse Care Centers.”
