Norcross, GA (December 6, 2011) — Divots Sportswear, the oldest private golf apparel company in the country, extends congratulations to Tour Ambassadors Sonny Skinner and Brent Witcher on their respective successes in the Champions Tour and PGA Tour National Qualifying Tournaments (Q-School).
Skinner finished tied for sixth place with tour veteran Bobby Clampett at the Champions Tour Q-School contested Nov 14-20 at the par-71 TPC Scottsdale’s Champions Course. Skinner, a PGA teaching professional at River Pointe Golf Club in Albany, Ga., and 2010 Senior PGA Professional Player of the Year, will be conditionally exempt on the Champions Tour in 2012 as a result of his finish in the top 12.
Witcher made it to the final round of the PGA Tour Q-School contested at PGA West (Nicklaus Tournament Course & TPC Stadium Course). He will earn conditional status on the Nationwide Tour for 2012. An Atlanta resident, Witcher is a graduate of Valdosta State University, where he was the recipient of the 2009 Jack Nicklaus Award as the nation’s Top NCAA Division II golfer.
