Corning, CA- Sevillano Links at Rolling Hills Casino is pleased to announce PGA Head Golf Professional Ronald “Ron” Kuwata is the recent recipient of the Northern California PGA President’s Plaque, a coveted award given for exemplary contributions to player development and promotion of the game. Kuwata, a Vietnam Veteran (and whose tenure with the PGA of America extends 26 years), accepted the honor at the Northern California PGA Annual Awards Banquet & Membership Meeting held recently at Marin Country Club.
Kuwata’s dedicated efforts in growing the game are based from Sevillano Links, a John Daly Signature Course & Practice Center at the Rolling Hills Casino Resort (Corning, CA). His outreach efforts include junior golf, assisting veterans and golfers with disabilities, plus hosting the nationally-recognized Golf Fore A Cause Clinic for women. Now in its fifth year, this annual clinic not only teaches women the game of golf in a relaxed environment, it also serves as a fundraiser for Girls, Inc., a non-profit organization that helps educate and empower young women.
“I am humbled to receive this award, an honor that I share with the entire staff at Sevillano Links,” stated PGA Head Golf Professional Ron Kuwata. “Reaching out to the community is a great part of our mission to serve, and we do so by consistently providing quality golf programs for all local players as well as our resort guests.”
Kuwata and his team are endorses of the PGA’s Golf 2.o Initiative and supporters of Play Golf America which serves as the umbrella for player development programs year-round. He is a supporter of Golf Digest’s Free Lesson Month and Women’s Golf Month, The Savings Stroke Program (in conjunction with the American Heart Association), and Doctor’s Orders: Play Golf. Additionally, Kuwata and his golf shop staff are hosts of Sevillano Links-Rolling Hills Casino’s annual Par Fore a Cause Pro-Am which benefits Mercy Foundation North in conjunction with St. Elizabeth Community Hospital.
