COLUMBUS, GA, January 3, 2011 — Roy Nix, Executive Director of the Association of Golf Clubfitting Professionals (AGCP), the world leader in the advancement of custom clubfitting and clubmaking is pleased to announce today the certification of Kelly Crumpler of Nine Mile Falls, WA to an AGCP Level 8 Qualified clubfitter and clubmaker.
Kelly Crumpler, Certified as AGCP Level 8 Qualified
Kelly worked in Health care as a Respiratory Therapist for 21 years. He graduated from Western Wyoming College School of Respiratory Care 1987-1990 and then Attended Western Wyoming College School of Nursing. 1990-1992. Kelly’s last decade was spent in Alaska, working split hours between a Pediatric ICU and Adult ICU. Because of severe health issues, he was forced to retire from the greatest, most rewarding, job in the world seconded only by building golf clubs.
Kelly built his first golf club from items purchased from Golfsmith, 25 years ago and has been building clubs for personal use and for his family. Kelly loved his new passion so much he vowed to dedicate his time and energy to learn and educate himself to the art of golf club fitting and building and started a business. After a year in business, he was invited to open a shop at a local golf course. Kelly has worked tirelessly and spent a great deal of time, effort and money to create a shop that is comfortable for him and his customers.
Kelly received his first set of golf clubs when he was about 6 years old, and he has been playing for 43 years now and has made a point of playing golf courses in every state he has visited. His philosophy is based on a quote from Vince Lombardi. “Although perfection is impossible to attain, if you strive for perfection, you will achieve excellence.” Kelly’s motto: “Pleasure at work and Perfection in the job.” Kelly tells us he is fortunate to have the world’s most supportive wife. When he tell her he is going to the golf course, she gives me a kiss and a wink and says good luck. “WOW” says Kelly; “I can go to the golf course any time I want with full support and no arguments”. To Kelly one of his most surprising, revelations is that people are as passionate about their golf clubs, as they are about their health care. Sometimes more.
