Stafford, Virginia – The Middle Atlantic Section of the PGA of America (MAPGA) is proud to announce the promotion of Jon Guhl to Executive Director/CEO.
Guhl, 40, has served as the MAPGA’s Assistant Executive Director since 1995. Filling many roles in that time, he most recently handled employment matters for MAPGA professionals, business operations of the Section, as well as promotions and marketing. Guhl was selected to replace the retiring Dick Johns, who started on the same day as Guhl in 1995.
Guhl earned a Bachelors degree from The College of William & Mary in 1993 and a Masters in Sports Management from the University of Massachusetts in 1995. After two years serving in college athletics, Guhl started his tenure with the MAPGA.
“We are excited to have Jon head our staff of dedicated professionals. He has earned the respect of our membership and Board, and we think he will do a wonderful job of leading our Association,” offered Section President John Malinowski, PGA (Montgomery CC, Laytonsville, MD).
Jon resides in Fredericksburg, VA with his wife, Heather, and two kids Justin (9) and Jocelyn (6).
