New Golf-Link Travel Golf Clubs™might well become the biggest boost to golf travel and the golf equipment industry since the airplane. Because they perform like traditional golf clubs, they may also be golf’s biggest engineering feat since the addition of titanium and graphite.
The brainchild of noted inventor and Sepia Products LLC President Pat Brady, Golf-Link Travel Clubs represent the first clubs that will travel smaller, lighter and easier, yet look, feel and perform like the golfer’s regular clubs. They’ll also avoid excessive oversized, overweight airline fees associated with transporting traditional clubs and bags.
“Until now,” said Mr. Brady, “any time you messed with the shaft or hosel, you basically destroyed club performance. We’ve conquered that with a patented design that allows the golfer to travel with a more compact bag, containing just one shaft and 14 club heads, including putter.”
“Golfers spend $3.6 billion annually on golf equipment,” added Executive Vice President Don Akerberg. “Imagine their response to clubs that remove the frustrations of golf travel without weakening their game.”
But while 17.3 million travelers played golf on vacation last year and 16% of all U.S. travelers went on at least 6 pure golf trips, they aren’t the only target market for Golf-Link Travel Clubs.
“Seniors and female golfers, along with the corporate gift market, will also be huge buyers of Golf-Link Travel Clubs,” added Don Akerberg, Executive Vice President, Sepia Products LLC. “Seniors have passion for the game, more time to play it religiously and more buying power than their parents or children. So whether it’s travel to and from local courses or out of town, they, like women golfers, don’t want a hassle and don’t want to lug a heavy bag. They want ease and they want performance.”
As a result, Golf-Link Travel Clubs are also available in women’s and senior shafts and heads, along with a specially designed Golf-Link Bag in women’s colors.
At the heart of the club design are the Golf-Link Quick-Connect Coupler and Snap-On Head. Meticulously molded and precision crafted to look and feel like part of the shaft and hosel that hold it, the patented coupler system allows the golfer to carry one shaft and change club heads in about 3 seconds. Equally important, it’s designed to swing, feel and perform like the traditional clubs it replaces.
“The Golf-Link Snap-On Head Design varies the length of the tip of the shaft going into the hosel, not the shaft itself,” Mr. Brady stated. “So each club maintains its normal length, without altering flex, swing weight or performance.”
The Golf-Link Travel Bag represents a total re-invention, as well. Just 38″ long and a mere 18 pounds (clubs included), this new compact bag is complete with grab-and-go handle, snap-on shoulder strap and lightweight, durable aluminum stand. So it’s not only ideal for travel, it’s ideal for cart or walking.
It also fits snugly and securely inside the Golf-Link Protective Bag, fashioned in a high tech carbon fiber look from durable ballistic nylon. It’s designed to meet airline requirements for standard bag checking, complete with compartments and room for everything from shoes and clothing to toiletries. It’s durable, easy-glide wheels make walking to, through and from airports easy.
“This might well be the only bag you need to pack,” concluded Akerberg. “In fact, Golf-Link Travel Golf Clubs can pay for themselves in saved baggage and club rental fees. It’s basically golf without the schlepp.”
