Every Rocket Needs An Engine

January 11, 2012

Anaheim, CA -MATRIX is proud to announce that they have been chosen to partner with TaylorMade to provide the shafts for its new club line, RocketBallz. The RocketBallz line, named for its rocket like ball flight, incorporate an ultra light weight design to promote ball speed and yardage. The new line includes drivers, fairway woods, Rescue, and irons that are intended to maximize carry and total yards.

The shaft is often referred to as the engine of the club and several different MATRIX products will be used to power the RocketBallz. The standard versions for both the RocketBallz (RBZ) driver and fairway woods will include the tour-proven MATRIX OZIK XCON. In addition, a Tour version of the RBZ driver will be available with an OZIK HD6. The tour dominating OZIK HD6 features MATRIX’s patented industry leading HD technology to increase stability without increasing weight, which will work with the club to increase total distance. The RBZ Tour fairway woods will feature MATRIX’s newest next-generation OZIK shaft, the RUL 70, which features MATRIX’s Asymmetric Crossply Technology (ACT). The ACT technology increases tip velocity at impact and will augment TaylorMade’s revolutionary speed pocket technology. In addition, the RocketBallz Tour Rescue will feature one of the most widely used hybrid shaft models on Tour, the MATRIX OZIK Altus Hybrid, and will use the shaft’s mid spin performance to enhance the speed pocket technology.

The RBZ Max Irons will also feature MATRIX shafts in them. The Max Irons will come with an OZIK Program 45 or 55 shaft, which is a lighter weight version of the already Tour successful Program 85, 95 and 130 irons shafts, created by MATRIX R&D for TaylorMade. The lighter weight shaft further enhances the desired launch conditions in the light weight design of the RBZ Max irons.

In addition, a variety of MATRIX products will also be available through TaylorMade’s custom shaft program for the R11s and RBZ family of products in order to fit the needs of discerning players.

The RocketBallz line is expected to be available for retail in early February.
