SCOTTSDALE, AZ (January 10) – TRUE linkswear is announcing the release of its 2012 product line, which will be available for pre-order on their web site January 10. The line will be unveiled at the 2012 PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando and available at retailers in early February.
“We are very excited about the breadth of our 2012 offerings,” said Rob Rigg, co-founder and president of TRUE. “The addition of the phx will open up an entire market of customers to us, while the updates to the tour and the stealth have been very well received by buyers. We can’t wait to let customers put them on their feet in Orlando.”
New for 2012
TRUE’s 2012 line features one new style and updates to their current styles, as well as additional color options. In addition, TRUE has reengineered their proprietary outsole to increase playability, while maintaining comfort and durability.
The TRUE phx ($99) is the first shoe with a sneaker profile offered by TRUE linkswear. It also is their first product at a price point of less than $100. The phx will be offered in six color options, and it offers the look and comfort of a sneaker with the game enhancement benefits that only TRUE can offer.
The TRUE tour ($149) was the first product offered by TRUE. The tour is a saddle-style golf shoe that is both traditional and modern at the same time. The new tour features a cleaner profile with enhanced aesthetics, an improved lacing system, improved leather quality and a 3D performance mesh sock liner. The tour will be initially offered in six color options.
The TRUE stealth ($199) is designed to easily transition from a round on the links to off-the-course engagements with more traditional styling and a modern silhouette. It offers a premium leather with a distressed appearance and finished with a cap toe. Building off of the success of the original stealth, the 2012 iteration offers a cleaner profile with enhanced aesthetics, improved premium leather quality and a leather sock liner. The stealth will be offered in three colors.
“The feedback I get from players and fans out on the Tour about TRUE has been remarkable,” said Ryan Moore, PGA TOUR player and co-founder of the company. “Personally, I’ve never been more comfortable on the golf course, and I think it reflected in my play last year. The interest in the shoes is only growing, and the new options we have coming out makes me even more thrilled to be associated with TRUE.”
The Barefoot Experience
TRUE was launched in October 2010 and has seen tremendous growth in its first year. More importantly, it emerged as a leader in the minimalist movement in golf, which has been adopted now by some of the world’s largest brands. While many of these companies tout a “barefoot” experience, they still feature large midsoles that separate the player from the ground. Only TRUE offers the thinnest sole in golf (2.5 mm), allowing players to truly “Feel the Course.”
TRUE was inspired by the emerging barefoot trend in running where many shoes have shifted away from highly-engineered structures, such as arch supports and heavily-cushioned heels, to a shoe that better utilizes the anatomical features of the foot. The idea is that nature’s engineering is best, and that a minimalist shoe with an ergonomic traction system allows a golfer’s body to naturally stabilize itself while feeling the course like never before.
TRUE footwear takes a nature-engineered approach to the golf shoe. Specific features of TRUE footwear includes:
Weight of just 11 ounces, making it the one of the lightest golf shoe on the PGA Tour
The TRUE Barefoot Platform, which features a wide toe box so toes can function naturally through the swing. This encourages proper weight transfer, balance, and natural stability
TRUE’s proprietary ErgoTraction 2.0 outsole features a new rubber compound and is only 2.5 mm thick, making it the thinnest sole in golf, while providing the durability to stand up to the most avid player
Memory Foam in the heel and a fitted sock liner create optimal comfort from the moment the shoe is put on
TRUE products are available at many national retailers, including Golfsmith, PGA Tour Superstores, Edwin Watts and GolfTown in Canada. More retailers can be found at their web site, www.truelinkswear.com.
