BEAVERTON, Ore. – One of the key figures associated with “Black Hawk Down” will be featured in the Leupold & Stevens booth Thursday, January 26, and Friday, January 27, at the PGA Merchandise Show, Orlando, Fla.
Former U.S. Army Ranger and Special Forces operator Jim Smith was wounded when his Black Hawk helicopter was shot down in Mogadishu in 1993. He and his fellow soldiers’ stories of the fierce battles that ensued were told in the best-selling “Black Hawk Down” novel and box-office-hit movie. Smith, a Silver Star, Purple Heart and Legion of Merit award winner, currently trains U.S. military and law enforcement forces. He fully understands the importance of having ranging instruments that are fast and accurate.
