LAKE MARY, FL (Jan. 17, 2012) – Longtime TaylorMade-adidas Golf executive John Steinbach has signed on with the International Network of Golf (ING) to assist in the development and growth of the 22-year-old networking organization.
As Director of Industry Relations, Steinbach will communicate with equipment companies and other golf industry businesses and media regarding the benefits of them joining ING and participating in the annual ING Spring Conference.
“To add someone with the experience and reputation of John Steinbach to our team is a huge plus,” said ING Executive Director Mike Jamison. “John has enjoyed a tremendous career in the golf industry, and is well respected by everyone with whom he has worked. Through his 10-year involvement in ING he understands the benefits of participation for golf companies, and will be able to communicate those benefits to prospects.”
Steinbach spent 30 years in the golf industry before his retirement from TaylorMade-adidas Golf last month. He held a number of positions with TaylorMade-adidas Golf over a 20-year period, including National Sales Manager, Vice President of Advertising/Public Relations and most recently as Director of Public Relations.
From 2006 to 2011 he served on the ING Executive Committee, the five-member board that helps steer the networking organization.
“ING is an organization that offers a unique platform for the golf media and marketers to interact and develop mutually beneficial relationships,” said Steinbach. “The ING setting promotes creative thinking that often leads to positive programs for both the business and the media. I am excited to help expand the reach of this important organization.”
Steinbach will be on hand when ING kicks off its 22nd year in the golf industry at the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando Jan. 25-28. ING will once again conduct business from its hospitality room, ClubING in Room 309-A next to the Media Center.
ClubING is open to ING members and guests throughout the three days of the show. The schedule includes: 19th Annual ING Media Awards Presentation Press Conference Thursday at 12:30 p.m., a media reception on Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., the 19th Annual ING Industry Honors Presentation Press Conference Friday at 1 p.m. followed immediately by a Q&A with LPGA Tour star Paula Creamer, and the “State of the Industry” program by Pellucid Corp at 10:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
ING also will unveil plans for its 22nd Annual ING Spring Conference. That annual gathering of the golf business and golf media takes place May 20-24 at Embassy Suites Greenville Golf Resort and Conference Center in Greenville, SC.
