IRVINE, CA – JANUARY 10, 2012 – FOURTEEN GOLF, the worldwide leader in wedge design with over 38 professional tour victories, announced today that the company continues to develop its iron product line-up with the introduction of the new TC-530FG Forged Irons.
These classically inspired TC-530FG Forged Irons appear to be a traditional forged iron that would be difficult to hit but they are not. FOURTEEN GOLF and its engineering team intentionally designed these irons with a progressive styling system. For playability with pure contact, the TC-530FG Forged Irons feature a wide sole which transitions through irons. The longer irons in the set actually have a wider sole than the shorter irons.
In addition to a transitional wide set sole, these easy to hit irons vary in length. The designers elongated each club by 0.55-inches – using the PA as the base iron. The shorter irons are easier to control as compared to middle and long irons which require faster swing speeds. Each increment of 0.55-inches provides forgiveness as well ensures less miss-hits with more consistency.
Golfers with a club head speed of 38-42m/sec will appreciate these head specifications. The sweet spot has been widened on the TC-530FG Forged Irons as compared to its predecessor. In addition, they feature the lowest and exact CG distance and MOI for golfers with these fast swing speeds. In fact, the TC-530FG Forged Irons have the lowest CG placement for a powerful launch.
This dynamic combination produces a high launch with increased consistency with pinpoint targeted irons shots.
These stunning irons are manufactured with a very soft S25 iron that undergoes an extensive forging. A nickel chrome non plated satin finish with mirror back provides an understated elegance. The TC-530FG Forged Irons feature the company’s proprietary trapezoid grooves which conform to the new groove rule. This distinctive sharply-edged trapezoidal groove undergoes a mirror-face milling process which precisely and carefully mills each groove for optimal spin.
The company spent years engineering a new trapezoidal shaped groove so the TC-530FG Forged Irons as well as FOURTEEN GOLF’s total product line would be in compliance with the new groove regulations effective in 2010 for the professional tours and 2014 for amateurs and tournaments.
The TC-530FG Forged Iron set configuration includes #4 through PW. The 48-degree iron is included instead of the PA. However, a PA is sold separately. For extraordinary performance these irons are equipped with the N.S. Pro 950 GH HT in steel (R or S).
According to FOURTEEN GOLF COO Marcy Kamoda, “These new and improved TC-530FG irons are the next generation of the Golf Digest ‘Award Winning’ TC-510FG Irons. We are confident that fans of its predecessor will love them. And, those attending the PGA Demo Day or PGA Merchandise Show, we encourage you to come by and test these high performance irons out.”
FOURTEEN GOLF has earned a reputation for producing some of the most classically designed, tour inspired, forged irons in the world. Golf Digest awarded the FOURTEEN GOLF TC-910FG Forged Irons with an honorable silver award in the “Players Irons” category and the Golf Digest judges recognized the FOURTEEN GOLF TC-510FG Forged Irons with four stars for performance and awarded them another silver honor in the “Game Improvement” category. The newly developed FOURTEEN GOLF TC-530FG Forged Irons have been developed with FOURTEEN GOLF’s rich forged iron heritage and will create a legacy of their own.
The TC-530FG Forged Irons will be available for testing at the 10th Annual PGA Demo Day on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at the Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge in Orlando, FL.
PGA Merchandise Show attendees can also test the new TC-530FG Forged Irons, at the FOURTEEN GOLF Hitting Bay #41 in the Equipment Testing Center in the Orange County Convention Center.
