Winner of Golf Channel’s “Big Break Ireland” to appear; incredible bargains on clubs, clothes, shoes, and all things golf
CHICAGO, Illinois (January 16, 2012) – It’s the new mantra for golfers: Come to the Chicago Golf Show and get a free round of golf!
Every attendee at the 2012 Chicago Golf Show may pick up a coupon for a free 18-hole round of golf courtesy of GolfVisions Management, which operates 12 Chicago-area courses. This is the third consecutive year GolfVisions has offered free golf at the Show.
Now in its 29th year, the Chicago Golf Show runs from Friday, Feb. 24 through Sunday, Feb. 26 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, 5555 River Road, in northwest suburban Rosemont. Tickets may be purchased at the door or in advance online at www.chicagogolfshow.com. Those who purchase online receive a $1 discount. The Chicago Golf Show is the only golf show supported by the Illinois PGA.
“The Chicago Golf Show is excited that GolfVisions once again has decided to offer a free round of golf to each and every attendee at the 2012 Chicago Golf Show,” said Chicago Golf Show producer Tom Corcoran. “This will be the third consecutive year GolfVisions has offered our customers free golf. Free golf has been our most successful promotion ever. It’s obvious that Chicago golfers love free golf!”
Golf Show attendees will be able to receive a free 18-hole round of golf for a course in one of three regions in greater Chicago – North/Northwest, West/Southwest, or South/Southeast. Details and restrictions may be found by visiting chicagogolfshow.com.
“GolfVisions is thrilled to offer attendees of the 2012 Chicago Golf Show a free round of golf at one of our 12 Chicago-area courses,” said GolfVisions president Tim Miles, Sr. “We know everyone loves a good deal. This promotion enables us to offer a good deal and it helps us introduce our courses to Golf Show attendees. We have courses all over the area and people can choose any one they want to play.”
Making his first appearance on the Daily Herald Golf Academy Stage will be Mark Murphy, winner of the Golf Channel’s 2011 Big Break Ireland competition. The only native of Ireland among the show’s competitors, Murphy was a fitting winner of the “Survivor-style” made-for-TV competition.
“I’m thrilled to be coming to the Chicago Golf Show,” Murphy said. “Chicago is a tremendous golf town and I’m looking forward to meeting all the golfers at the Chicago Golf Show. I’m sure many of them will be able to trace their roots back to Ireland.” Murphy will appear on the Golf Academy Main Stage on both Friday and Saturday. Check chicagogolfshow.com for a complete schedule.
Three-time Ryder Cup team member and current Champions Tour player Chip Beck also will appear Friday afternoon on the Daily Herald Golf Academy Stage.
The 2012 Chicago Golf Show will feature an expansive indoor driving range at “Chicago’s Largest Demo Days” sponsored by the Swan Lake Resort of Plymouth, Ind. There, golfers may hit the latest new clubs from a wide range of the industry’s most popular manufacturers. Club manufacturers specializing in both adult and junior clubs will be on hand to explain the features and benefits of their latest products. Please check chicagogolfshow.com for a schedule.
Not to be missed is the always-popular Long Putt Challenge, another cornerstone of the Show. For the second year in a row, any contestant who makes the 85-foot putt OR who putts the ball within a two-foot radius of the hole will receive a free round at a GolfVisions course of their choice, courtesy of GolfVisions.
Everyone who attends the Chicago Golf Show loves the incredible bargains on golf equipment offered by exhibitors from around the country. Attendees in search of discounts will find huge savings on golf equipment, golf balls, golf shoes, and golf apparel. In addition, dozens of regional, national, and international golf travel destinations will be exhibiting to help golfers plan their golf getaways.
Dozens of Illinois PGA professionals again will be on hand to offer attendees free lessons on the full swing, short game, and putting. Esteemed golf instructors will conduct scheduled seminars on the Golf Academy Stage to help attendees get their games in shape for the coming season. The Chicago Golf Show is the only golf show supported by the Illinois PGA. Another major supporter is the Illinois Junior Golf Association, which will conduct its annual scavenger hunt for young golfers again this year.
