Gallus Golf Delivers Course-Specific Customized Smartphone Apps

January 19, 2012

Gallus Golf has released the golf industry’s only comprehensive and course-branded customized mobile app solution. Each Gallus app, developed for iPhone and Android, is customized for a specific golf course. Features include:

• GPS Yardage

• Hole descriptions with course pictures

• An interactive scorecard

• Live leaderboards that can be displayed on various media (including inside the clubhouse)

• Facebook integration

• Food and beverage menus

• Link to reserve tee times directly onto the course’s tee sheet.

“There are hundreds of golf-related apps, but none that can offer a comprehensive and branded solution for a golf course without a substantial investment of money and time,” says Jason Wilson, Gallus VP of Business Development. “Our app gives the golf course an affordable option to provide a unique and enhanced experience to their customers. The features are specifically designed to attract more golfers to play your course, bring them back multiple times, and encourage their friends to join them. Our Gallus development team has years of experience in the mobile app space and have developed nearly 100 smartphone apps across multiple industries. Mobile technology and social media are the two most rapidly growing trends today. Gallus Golf provides the best way for golf courses to leverage these trends to grow their business. ”

Wilson continues, “Orange County National Golf Club, home of the PGA Merchandise Show Demo Day, is one of our beta sites. We will be there to introduce our app, and will be sponsoring a tournament where golfers can use our app and see their scores posted on the live leaderboard. There will be prizes, too. To download the app, just go to app store on your iPhone or Android Market on Android phones, and search for “Orange County National.”

Beta testing at daily fee courses around the country has shown a huge acceptance by golf course customers. Downloads average over 1000 per course in just 30 days, and usage on the course has been above expectations even in this “slow” season. Most encouraging is the number of people using the “book a tee time” link, a key feature that brings measurable, tangible value to the golf course. On the course, golfers are finding the GPS feature to be accurate and convenient, and are using the scorecard and leaderboard to create more fun playing with friends. The “cool” factor is that now golfers can have all they need to enjoy a round of golf on one device.

Gallus Golf will introduce their app at the PGA Merchandise Show in conjunction with the International Network of Golf (ING), room 309A. If you don’t see us at Demo Day, come on in to room 309A or visit www.gallusgolf.com and see how you can easily and affordably add a customized smartphone application to your course’s identity.
