Anaheim, Ca – Twenty-five percent of the top finishers played MATRIX shafts at the Sony Open in Hawaii. Several players used the tour tested HD shaft, which has seen extensive tour use over the last few years since its introduction, while several others turned to newer matrix products, including the OZIK hM3 and RUL. The hM3 is the hybrid version of the M3, which released over the summer as the first of three next generation OZIK branded shafts. The RUL is the second next generation OZIK shaft to release from MATRIX, with the OZIK XCON completing the family this summer. The M3 line uses MATRIX’s patented, industry leading HD technology to increase stability without increasing weight, while the RUL uses MATRIX’s newest technology, Asymmetric Cross Ply Technology (ACT), to help the shaft recover prior to impact and increase tip velocity. Both new OZIK shafts produce exceptional stability, with the M3 producing low launch and spin characteristics, and the RUL creating a mid launch and spin alternative.
According to MATRIX Director of Tour Operations, Joe Miera, “We are excited to get off to a good start for the 2012 season. We are also excited to see our new products performing well on tour. MATRIX places great emphasis on using quality materials to create quality products with consistent performance, which is why players can count on a new product just as much as they can with a shaft that has been used on tour for years.”
