ORLANDO, Fla. (Feb. 1, 2012) – Golfweek – the most authentic, authoritative and independent voice in golf – took home the 2011 International Network of Golf (ING) Industry Honor for Print Advertising/Trade at a presentation press conference held Friday at the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, Fla. Honored for a display advertisement from Golfweek’s “Now That’s Serious” campaign, the award represents the magazine’s first recognition from the ING in this individual category.
“Our ‘Now That’s Serious’ campaign has received much attention and acclaim since its debut, but to have these advertisements applauded by the industry for which they were created is such an honor,” said Turnstile Media Group President/CEO Francis X. Farrell. “Our goal with these ads was to illustrate the intense passion of the Golfweek audience, and we’re thrilled that they have had such an impact on both our readers and our peers.”
Celebrating its 19th anniversary, the ING Industry Honors recognizes outstanding achievement in golf business across 12 different categories, ranging from advertising and public relations to player development and golf course design. To choose the winners, golf industry professionals submit nominations, which are whittled down to just three finalists per category by ING sub-committees. ING members then vote electronically to determine the award recipients.
