World’s No. 1 golf GPS app provides precise distances, yardage book quality images, pro-level stat tracking

(SCOTTSDALE, AZ) – GolfLogix – the No. 1 App for Golf and a global leader in GPS and club-tracking technology – has selected Buffalo Communications (Buffalo) to develop and execute a public relations program.

Easily downloaded from www.GolfLogix.com, the free GolfLogix GPS app is compatible with more than 60 smartphone models. It provides accurate distances to the center of the green, yardage book quality imagery of each hole, scorekeeping and in-round pro-level stat tracking for nearly 30,000 courses worldwide. For less than $20 annually, an upgraded Champion membership delivers club tracking and distances to any location on the hole – including pin position, hazards and landing zones.

“Our philosophy has always been to supply golfers with meaningful resources to play better and enjoy the game more,” says Pete Charleston, President of GolfLogix. “With its highly-skilled team and innovative approach, Buffalo Communications is the right partner to help accelerate our growth.”

Starting in Spring 2012, instructional videos and tips from Golf Digest experts will be automatically included within the GolfLogix app. As the software continuously captures a player’s stats during the round, personalized feedback and instant advice from the magazine’s industry-leading teaching vault will be sent to the member’s smartphone for review.

“With more than 1.5 million users already benefitting from its Tour-quality information, GolfLogix has distinguished itself as a truly innovative software company,” says Rich Katz, Managing Director of Buffalo. “This, plus recent partnerships with Golf Digest and PGA Tour star Zach Johnson, have extended its category leadership position while providing a bevy of compelling story lines for media coverage.”

The inaugural GolfLogix staff player, Johnson showcases the brand’s logo on his shirt sleeve during competition, is featured in the company’s marketing initiatives and interacts with its online community members. Winner of seven PGA Tour events, including the 2007 Masters, the 35-year-old has been a member of two U.S. Ryder Cup and Presidents Cup teams.

All GolfLogix membership levels include access to the Member Clubhouse, the No. 1 online golf community where millions of golfers interact through social forums, offer challenges to fellow golfers and maintain an indexed handicap. Personal web pages for each user also stores performance statistics, so every round can be analyzed by fairways hit, greens in regulation, putting, shot trends and more.
