Tommy Armour III — Champions Tour Golfer And Grandson Of The Legendary “Silver Scot” — Signs Exclusive Deal With G/Fore Gloves

Los Angeles, CA — A prestigious addition to its growing stable of stylish golfers, colourful glove maker G/FORE today announced it has signed Tommy Armour III to an exclusive contract. A Champions Tour golfer and the grandson of links legend Tommy “The Silver Scot” Armour, TA3 (as he’s known to friends) will exclusively wear G/FORE gloves on the course as part of a one-year deal.

Beloved by his fellow Tour pros and Hollywood celebrities alike, Armour is a stylish, glamourous golf legacy with impeccable taste and a playboy’s joie de vivre. His on-course accomplishments are numerous, with a professional career that stretches back to his joining the PGA Tour in 1981 at age 21. Since then, the Texas-based Armour has amassed seven professional wins, including two PGA Tour wins and two Nationwide Tour wins. He also holds the record for best overall 72-hole score thanks to his stunning 254-shot victory at the Valero Texas Open in 2003.

Gloves have long played a key role in Armour’s game. As he recently told Golf Digest, “When I was 13, I told my dad I wanted to be on tour and wear a brand-new golf glove every day. Wearing a new glove every day is one of those trappings (of being on tour).” One of golf’s style icons in his own right, Armour counts Tom Weiskopf, Arnold Palmer and Doug Sanders among his style influences. But his mother, who worked for luxury retailer Neiman Marcus, may have played the biggest role in Armour’s development as an on-course tastemaker.

The man who claims to have coined the phrase “Look good, feel good, play good,” has already been spotted playing in brightly coloured G/FORE gloves — including statement-making hues like blush and blossom. “I’m incredibly fortunate to have had a Hall of Fame-golfer grandfather, a very stylish mother, encouraging parents, and an innate love for the game of golf,” Armour says. “That I now get to take the course wearing G/FORE’s excellent-looking and great-playing gloves just makes it that much better.”

G/FORE founder-designer Mossimo Giannulli says the company’s equally excited to have Armour onboard. “TA’s a great guy, a super golfer and real style icon,” he says. “We’re thrilled to have Tommy Armour III join the likes of Ricky Barnes & Kathleen Ekey on the G/FORE leader board.”
