‘The hottest shafts in golf’ dominates wood & hybrid shaft manufacturer counts in first 9 PGA events
POWAY, Calif. – The winner and second place finisher at the Mayakoba Golf Classic both benefited from Aldila’s leading shaft technology. Using Aldila’s VS Proto in his 3 wood, the winner notched his first PGA Tour victory in just five starts after surviving eight sudden-death playoff holes. He finished with a 13-under 271 including a tournament record 63 final round.
The second place finisher was playing Aldila’s RIP’d NV in his driver and 3 wood. The RIP’d NV incorporates the best performance attributes from two of Aldila’s most innovative shaft designs — the ‘perfect feel’ and slim, stable shaft profile of the Aldila NV® and the unprecedented control and accuracy of the Aldila RIP®. The Aldila NV, featuring Micro Laminate technology (MLT®), is the most popular aftermarket shaft in history.
Aldila (www.aldila.com) won the wood and hybrid shaft counts at the WGC – Accenture Match Play Championship and the Mayakoba Golf Classic with their RIP shaft series leading the way. In designing the RIP (Reverse Interlaminar Placement) Aldila engineers employed patent-pending technology and exclusive materials to completely transform shaft design from the inside out providing players with shot control.
“Tour players continue to rely on Aldila’s RIP Technology™ because it provides them with lower torque, increased tip stability and better tip stiffness control,” said Stewart Bahl, Aldila’s Marketing Manager.
The RIP continues to prove itself each week on Tour. According to the Darrell Survey, Aldila had eight more wood and three more hybrid shafts in play at the WGC – Accenture Match Play Championship than the next leading shaft manufacturer. At the Mayakoba Golf Classic, “The Hottest Shafts In Golf” had 29 more wood shafts and four more hybrid shafts in play than their closest competitor.
During the “West Coast Swing,” Aldila remained the #1 shaft on Tour as they dominated the shaft manufacturer counts. They won the wood and hybrid shaft counts at eight out of nine PGA Tour events. Aldila had 741 wood shafts in play during the first nine tournaments, which was 183 more shafts than its nearest competitor. Aldila also had 247 hybrid shafts in play during the first nine tournaments, which was 57 more than its nearest competitor.
Aldila catapults power to an unprecedented level. High performance technology harnessed and perfected from a special blend of materials, design and expertise. They are continuÌâåÂÌâåÂally on the leading edge of the golf world through their relentless pursuit of the next best innovation. They do the experimenting so you don’t have to.
