SAN MARTIN, Calif. (February 28, 2012) … One of the most versatile young talents in golf instruction has been selected to introduce and implement a fresh approach to game improvement at CordeValle, A Rosewood Resort.
Jonathan Horner, who the past four years has been a staff professional at the prestigious Jim McLean Golf Academy at Miami Beach Golf Club, will be at the forefront of CordeValle’s newly developed holistic instructional program that debuts this spring.
The 27-year-old Horner – whose work in Miami included assisting world-class players such as PGA Tour stars Greg Norman, Ryan Moore and Keegan Bradley, as well as LPGA teen sensation Alexis Thompson – is a certified Class A PGA Professional. The past year, Horner served as Operations Manager at the McLean School, directing daily operations at the golf school, as well as managing summer camps and helping open a new golf schools in Miami Beach. He trained staff and also helped write golf magazine tips, as well as McLean’s book, “The Fix.”
“CordeValle is a world-class establishment and I am very excited to be part of the team,” said Horner, who is from Portland, Ore. “With our new holistic approach, we plan on developing an instructional program that will provide noticeable results for our members and guests.”
Horner is a 2009 graduate of the University of Nevada Las Vegas, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Recreation and Sports Management, with a concentration in Professional Golf Management. He has worked as an assistant pro at Bandon Dunes Resort in Oregon and Rio Secco Golf Club in Las Vegas; was an instructor at Colorado Golf Club in Parker, Colo.; and was a teaching assistant pro at The Club at Pronghorn, in Bend, Ore.
