Atlanta, Ga. – Feb. 29, 2012 – The Family Golf Challenge, a new skills competition for families, will be staged at the Honda Classic at the PGA National Resort & Spa in Palm Beach Gardens, March 1-4. The putting challenge will be played on a 1000 sq. ft. putting green provided and installed by Southwest Greens Florida; the contest will take place adjacent to the 17th hole on the Championship course during tournament play. As a returning sponsor of the Honda Classic, Southwest Greens of Florida is donating a 300 sq. ft. home putting green installation as part of a raffle benefiting The First Tee of The Palm Beaches.
“We are excited to have Southwest Greens Florida as a partner of this year’s Family Golf Challenge,” said Bill Carroll, President and CEO of The Family Golf Challenge. “To be able to offer fans the opportunity to win the same type of putting green that PGA pros like Jim Furyk, David Toms and Annika Sorenstam have in their homes, while raising money for the local chapter of the First Tee, is a perfect partnership.”
“Southwest Greens Florida is proud to be partnering with The Family Golf Challenge as part of the 2012 Honda Classic,” said Jim Walton President, Southwest Greens Florida. “As longtime friend and member of 100 Friend of the First Tee, we couldn’t be more excited to take part in an event which will bring added awareness and donations to the First Tee of The Palm Beaches, an organization that provides so much to our community.”
The entry-fee to compete in The Family Golf Challenge competition is $10.00 per team/per challenge with a 33 percent donation going to The First Tee of The Palm Beaches. Re-entries are $5.00 for each challenge and competitors can re-enter as many times as they want over the course of tournament play.
