The PGA of Australia today announced a new education and technology partnership with TrackMan, the leading international brand for swing and ball flight analysis.
The three year agreement will position TrackMan as the PGA’s Education and Technology partner for both the PGA Academy, the PGA’s education and training arm, and the Learning Centre, a state of the art coaching facility based at the PGA’s National Office at the Sandhurst Club.
The TrackMan Pro system will be integrated throughout various aspects of the PGA’s training programs while TrackMan University learning content will be incorporated into the PGA’s Trainee syllabus.
TrackMan will also offer their support for a range of other PGA Professional Education initiatives.
Craig Sharp, the PGA’s Executive Officer for Training and Education, says the partnership is a significant boost to the Association’s education offerings.
“We are extremely pleased with the opportunity to work with TrackMan who are undoubtedly the market leader for swing and ball flight analysis,” said Sharp.
“Put simply, the TrackMan system will enhance the PGA’s capacity to assess scoring ability, create training programs and benchmark performance and improvement which will further compliment our already robust learning platform.”
“TrackMan Combine is also useful from a coaching and club fitting perspective. Our Professionals will be able to learn more about their student’s natural tendencies under pressure to optimise training sessions accordingly.”
Speaking about the new partnership US PGA Member and TrackMan Sales and Business Development Vice-President Matt Frelich said, “we are pleased with the opportunity to work with the PGA of Australia and are very excited to officially begin our relationship”.
TrackMan Pro is already the choice of the PGA Tour, USGA and the R&A.
Renowned internationally for its education programs, the PGA inducts approximately 70 Professionals into its Membership each year upon completion of their three year Traineeship.
The PGA also delivers ongoing professional development programs for existing PGA Professionals and is responsible for the accreditation of vocational golf coaches in Australia.
