Tom Fazio design in top two percent of Florida’s public golf facilities
(WATERSOUND, Fla.) — Camp Creek Golf Club — the award-winning Tom Fazio design along the Gulf Coast – is No. 9 in Golfweek’s 2012 “State-by-State” rankings.
The rankings, which include all daily-fee layouts and courses accessible via resorts, place Camp Creek in elite company alongside hosts of TOUR events and world famous resorts. Florida boasts 635 public-access facilities, according to the National Golf Foundation.
“Golfweek is one of the game’s most prestigious publications and we are proud to be included,” says Jaxon Hardy, head golf professional. “Camp Creek has established itself as one of the best courses in Florida thanks to a remarkable layout, and a very dedicated staff.”
Camp Creek is consistently cited as one of Fazio’s most thought-provoking, aesthetically-stunning design credits. Featuring a unique “dunescape” framed by sand dunes and native grasses, the course is a regular host of both U.S. Open and U.S. Amateur Qualifiers.
From the back green tees, it plays 7,159 yards and boasts formidable slope rating of 152 (one of the highest in the state). Camp Creek’s five-tee configuration, which also includes gold (senior) and red (women’s) tees, accommodates players of all skill and experience levels.
