ORLANDO, Fla. (March 12, 2012) – Golf Channel announced today the addition of Bob Papa to its on-air team for live tournament coverage in 2012. Papa will serve as a play-by-play host at select events for the network’s coverage of the PGA TOUR and Champions Tour, beginning this week at the Toshiba Classic in Newport Beach, Calif.
Papa also will assume Golf Channel play-by-play responsibilities at the Encompass Insurance Pro-Am of Tampa Bay on the Champions Tour and three events on the PGA TOUR – the HP Byron Nelson Championship, FedEx St. Jude Classic and the Travelers Championship.
A 20-year sports broadcasting veteran, Papa is the radio play-by-play voice of the New York Giants, host and reporter for the NFL Network and has hosted telecasts for NBC’s coverage of the Olympics since 1992.
