NEW BEDFORD, Mass., March 7, 2012 – Golfers can now look great, enjoy the sun and have peace of mind with the new sun protection performance line by AHEAD and Kate Lord. The new apparel line features sun protective fabrics that have a UPF 30+ rating and the headwear line has a UPF rating of 50+.
Developed with sun protection as its number one priority ÌÎå¦ the apparel line also features aesthetic, technical and functional attributes that enhance the look and performance of the overall garment. The sun protective fabric provides all day UPF 30+ protection from the sun and its damaging rays. Made of 100 percent performance polyester, the Sun Protection Performance polos combine UPF 30+ with quick dry moisture wicking technology and odor management to keep golfers protected from the sun and the garment dry, cool and fresh.
“Golfers spend four-to-five hours during their round in the hot sun and research shows that the damage it can have on our skin over time is significant,” said Jeff Waller, director of sales, AHEAD. “Our new UPF 30+ line gives golfers added protection from the sun without sacrificing comfort or performance. Golfers should be using a combination of sunscreen, UPF 30+ apparel and headwear for maximum protection from the harmful rays. Our customers have been very receptive to our sun protection line and are looking forward to carrying it in their shops this summer.”
