Fun-filled, family-friendly event highlighted by long drive city competition, free instructional clinics, giveaways, and much more
WEST COLUMBIA, S.C., March 14, 2012…Test Out, Tune Up and Tee Off – the Edwin Watts Golf Super Expo and Demo Day is coming back to town! Edwin Watts Golf Shops, LLC, (EWGS) one of the world’s largest specialty golf retailers, in conjunction with the South Carolina Junior Golf Association (SCJGA), will host the annual extravaganza on Saturday, March 31, from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. at Par Tee Driving Range in West Columbia, located just off Highway 321 at 3209 Charleston Highway. Highlighting the event will be the Long Drive City Championship, a free Clubs 4 Kids session, and an opportunity to test out the hottest new golf equipment from the game’s leading brands.
As part of the exciting activities, the SCJGA will conduct a free instructional Clubs 4 Kids clinic for juniors ages 17 and under from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. The Clubs 4 Kids program is a great way for a child to be introduced to golf and the program is made possible through support from the Carolinas Golf Association. Complimentary golf clubs will also be given to our newest golfers so that they can enjoy the great game of golf.

This fun-filled event is also highlighted by the 6th Annual Long Drive City Championship, being held from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. in various men’s and women’s groups, and a trophy will be presented to the newly crowned Long Drive City Champion. Representatives from the Columbia Chapter of the Executive Women’s Golf Association (EWGA) will be on-site to help conduct this event, and entry fees ($5 for youth and $10 for adults) will benefit South Carolina Junior Golf programs, which provide youth with multiple opportunities to participate.
Edwin Watts Golf associates will be available to take equipment orders or to accept trade-ins, and custom fitting experts will be on-site to match attendees with clubs that will improve their game. Representatives from leading equipment brands such as TaylorMade, Callaway, Titleist, Ping, Mizuno, Cleveland, Nike, Adams and Wilson, among others, will be at the event so consumers can test out the hottest new products for the 2012 season. Additionally, the Bridgestone/Precept golf ball fitting van will be on-site to conduct golf ball fitting by appointment.
Further adding to the excitement of the day, the Edwin Watts Golf Super Expo & Demo Day will serve as a host venue for “2012 AMP™ Series,” a partnership between Cobra Puma Golf and Golfweek, created to promote the fun factor of the game. The Cobra Puma Golf experience encompasses a breadth of interactive activities including music, refreshments, contests and giveaways, promoting a youthful and energetic lifestyle on the course. All attendees will have the opportunity to test the new Cobra AMP clubs, check out the hottest Puma Golf gear, and enjoy free professional custom fitting sessions.
