13 – 24 July, 2013 | 11 Nights | 5 Rounds
ATLANTA, GA (Mar 16, 2012) – In July of 2013, the golf and cruise planets will align for 11 unique nights while clients of PerryGolf play and sightsee their way through the British Isles en route to the 2013 British Open at Muirfield. The “2013 British Open Golf Cruise Explorer” on board the Azamara Quest is designed for golfers and non-golfers alike. It begins on Saturday July 13 in Dublin with city tours plus play at 2006 Ryder Cup host the K-Club before sailing to Belfast. Ahead for the golfers are world #5 Royal County Down, The Carrick on Loch Lomond in its magnificent setting, Scottish Open host Castle Stuart (#56 ) and Kingsbarns (#54 ) in St Andrews. Two of the courses in Scotland were designed by Gil Hanse who was recently selected as the architect for the Olympic golf course in Brazil. Non-golfers will explore the Scottish Highlands, Edinburgh and St Andrews plus a full day in Hamburg, Germany. All will enjoy the final round drama of the 142nd Open Championship.
The experience is a PerryGolf tradition started in 1999 that continues on this voyage with partner Azamara Club Cruises. Azamara is Royal Caribbean’s new luxury unit which distinguishes itself with “destination immersion” – the delightful practice of lingering longer in charming ports-of-call so passengers can indulge themselves to the fullest. The Azamara Quest is a midsize luxury ocean cruiser providing sophisticated service in a country club casual ambience with a full complement of luxury amenities. English butler service is provided for guests in each of her 32 suites. During the Open, Quest will be docked in Leith for three days and two nights affording passengers a fun-filled “base” with convenient access to Edinburgh, East Lothian and Muirfield. After the conclusion of play on Sunday evening, the Azamara Quest sails for Hamburg, Germany where travelers will enjoy a day of sightseeing before disembarking.
“We believe the 2013 Open Championship at Muirfield will be one of the most highly anticipated Majors as so many players have a viable opportunity to win the Claret Jug,” said Gordon Dalgleish, president of PerryGolf. “As a result, demand will increase on nearby accommodations and golf courses…we feel the cruise program is the very best of all worlds for convenience, comfort and accessibility.”
Tours are priced from $7,618 per person, for golf and cruise, depending on the cabin category accommodations. For more information on the 2013 British Open Explorer Cruise, visit http://www.perrygolf.com/britishopen2013 or call 800.344.5257.
