Radio program ends seven-year run on Sirius XM’s PGA Tour Network
Orlando, FL (March 19, 2012) – Only five live shows remain for Peter Kessler’s golf radio show, “Making the Turn,” which has aired on Sirius XM Satellite Radio’s PGA Tour Network for the past seven years.
“It has been a great run and a very long one as these things go,” said Kessler, who is known as the “Voice of Golf.” “I’ve done 3,000 one-hour shows between radio and television and I’m hungry for more because it’s fun. I’m looking at some opportunities and hope to be on air again soon.”
The final five shows, starting today, will be filled with some of Peter’s favorite guests from over the years including Gary Player, Ken Venturi, Hank Haney, Jim McLean, Geoff Russell, Jaime Diaz, Steve Elling, Randall Mell, Brian Hewitt, and other golf notables.
Kessler served as the Voice of HBO Sports and narrated Emmy and Peabody award-winning documentaries for the network, including “When It Was a Game.” As the primary talent at The Golf Channel for its first eight years, he wrote, hosted, and produced more than 1,300 hours of live television, interviewing every great player and teacher of the 20th century.
Kessler was a columnist for GOLF Magazine and founded the first company to market hybrid golf clubs. He has also fostered a successful career as an after-dinner speaker, host, and master of ceremonies. Recently Kessler became involved with online portals The A Position and Golf Road Warriors, traveling to some of the best golf destinations in the world with fellow media, broadcasting his experiences as they unfold.
