NORTHBROOK, Ill. – March 20, 2012 – KemperSports, a leading golf course management company, announced today the appointment of Mark Aulerich as General Manager of The Prairie Club in Valentine, Neb. The Prairie Club, rated by Golfweek in the magazine’s “Top 25 Golf Resorts in the US” list in 2011 and by LINKS in the magazine’s “Top 100” list in 2012, is a 46-hole semi-private golf destination that features two award-winning 18-hole courses (The Dunes Course and The Pines Course), a 10-hole par 3 course (The Horse Course) and a western-style Prairie Club Lodge.
Aulerich brings more than 20 years of experience managing premier golf properties in Wyoming, Utah and Arizona. Most recently, he served as General Manager at Shooting Star, a Tom Fazio design located at the base of the Jackson Hole Ski Resort recently ranked number four in Golfweek’s 2012 “Best Residential Courses” list. Prior to that, he served as Director of Golf at Glenwild Golf Club in Park City, Utah – a course that has been rated number one in the state by Golf Digest since it opened in 2001.
“We are delighted to have Mark on board as the new general manager at The Prairie Club,” said KemperSports chief executive officer Steve Skinner. “Mark has experience at some of the finest clubs in the West and will play a key role in The Prairie Club’s continued success.”
Aulerich’s career in the golf industry began in 1990 when he became Assistant Golf Professional at Forest Highlands Golf Club in Flagstaff, Ariz. He went on to become Head Golf Professional at Club Terravita in Scottsdale, Ariz. before accepting his first General Manager/Director of Golf position at The Golf Club at Chaparral Pines in Payson, Ariz.
“The Prairie Club has quickly become a premier golf destination in the U.S.,” said Aulerich. “I look forward to delivering a first-class experience for members and guests.”
