ORLANDO, Fla. – March 20, 2012 – The par 4 10th hole of Grand Cypress Golf Resort’s New Course is featured on the cover of the current issue of Play Florida Golf, the state of Florida’s official golf directory and vacation guide.
Orlando’s premier golf resort and hotel, Villas of Grand Cypress, is home to 45 holes of Jack Nicklaus Signature-designed golf, including the New Course, which debuted in 1988 and is Nicklaus’ personal tribute to the Old Course at St. Andrews. Complete with its own double greens, gorse mounds, stone bridges and walls, the New Course also features pot bunkers as deep as 12 feet. PGA Tour pros often will venture to Grand Cypress to play the course in preparation for the British Open.
The state of Florida’s new marketing program, Play Florida, is targeted to golf enthusiasts in both the U.S. and Canada, according to Gary Jones, CEO/President of Destination Media, which publishes Play Florida Golf. The directory includes a comprehensive list of Florida golf courses by region, golf editorial and golf vacation information, and is illustrated with images by noted golf course photographer Nile Young. The current issue will be on display until Aug. 1, Jones said.
Located in the Lake Buena Vista area of Orlando, Villas of Grand Cypress is just minutes from Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando and SeaWorld Orlando. The resort can be conveniently accessed by driving, via Interstate 4, or by flying into Orlando International Airport (MCO).
