The nonprofits July 22nd, “Little Golf, Big Purpose” event to raise funds for future national expansion as well as the Greater Orlando Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
Deltona, FL, March 20, 2012: “We are very excited about our upcoming 100 plus hole marathon and fundraiser at Orange Lake Resort’s Legends Walk Course” says PGA Golf Professional Brendon Elliott, Founder of The Little Linksters Association for Junior Golf Development. “Our 501c3 has not even been in place for three months yet and we are making some tremendous strides forward already” Elliot says. The nonprofit recently received a grant from the Barbara & Jack Nicklaus Junior Golf Endowment fund which is administered by the PGA Foundation. It also had a laser printer donated from Lexmark who is the official printing technology provider of the PGA of America. “It is very encouraging to have the support of these organizations and companies and we are so very grateful. We are very hopeful that we are able to have a very fruitful event on July 22nd and have plans to put the money raised to very good use” Elliott adds.
The Event
The “Little Golf, Big Purpose” 100 Hole Marathon to benefit the Little Linksters Association for Junior Golf Development will take place on Sunday July 22, 2012 on the Legends Walk Course at Orange Lake Resort in Kissimmee, FL. “The course is a fabulous 9 hole par three which is always in great condition” Explains Elliott. “In 1 day, we will be playing 3 balls on each hole for 36 holes for a grand total of 108 holes of golf. This difficult yet rewarding journey will benefit the Little Linksters Association for Junior Golf Development as we look to expand our golf program nationwide. In addition, a portion of the money raised will go toward the Greater Orlando Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals” Elliott adds.
Donating through http://www.LittleLinksters.org is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to donate toward the Little Linksters Association fundraising efforts. Proceeds will benefit the Little Linksters Association for Junior Golf Development as well as a percentage going toward the Greater Orlando Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
We are also looking for sponsors to provide us with prizes to go out to the top fundraisers. In addition, we will have hole sponsorship opportunities and other ways of helping” Elliott explains.
The Little Linksters Association for Junior Golf Development will be the vehicle that will launch the acclaimed Little Linksters Golf Program to areas nationwide in 2012. PGA Professional Brendon Elliott is the founder of Little Linksters, LLC and the developer of the Little Linksters program designed for kids 3-8 years of age. Elliott, a 2010 and 2011 US Kids Golf Top 50 Kids Teacher and the 2011 NFPGA Junior Golf Leader award winner developed the program in 2008 in the greater Orlando area. From the beginning, Elliott had a desire to have PGA & LPGA Professionals nationwide share in his vision by introducing kids 3-8 to golf in a streamlined, uniform and most importantly, FUN format. “Kids start golf far too late in life” explains Elliott. “Traditionally, kids are introduced to golf at age 9 or 10 and by then they have been exposed to so many other sports and activities. With all that the game of golf offers, the values and life lessons it teaches along with giving young children a sense of self discovery, accomplishment and individuality, we need to get kids into the game sooner…much, much sooner. That’s what Little Linksters does.”
Elliott has put together a rather impressive National Advisory Board to aid in obtaining the objectives of the Little Linksters Association for Junior Golf Development. The board consists of the following golf industry professionals:
Kris Wilson- President & CEO- The Littlest Golfer, Inc.
Rich Smith- Executive Director/CEO of the North Florida PGA
