Justman to lead golf operations at the company’s 23 courses in Myrtle Beach, S.C., area
March 21, 2012, Myrtle Beach, S.C. – Scott Justman, who has been a head professional for five years, with the last three years as head golf professional of both The Landing and Great Waters courses at Reynolds Plantation in Greensboro, Ga., has been named vice president of golf operations for National Golf Management Company (NGM). In his new role, Justman will oversee the professional golf staff, inventory and facilities at each of the 23 NGM courses.
Justman, 30, gained hands-on experience in the golf business even before his graduation from the professional golf management program at Ferris State University in 2005. His role at Reynolds Plantation, beginning in 2005 as assistant golf professional, included staff and facilities management. He oversaw the renovation of The Landing’s clubhouse, which was completed in 2008 and awarded the “Best Clubhouse” of the year (2008) by Golf Inc. Magazine.
While at Reynolds Plantation, Justman was also the host professional for the 2008 PGA Club Professionals Championship as well as numerous national junior and collegiate events, including the prestigious Southern Junior Championship.
“I am looking forward to again being a part of Bob’s staff,” said Justman, who worked under NGM president Bob Mauragas for six years at Reynolds Plantation. “I understand what Bob is looking for and I share his vision of how good this company can be going forward. I am excited to be able to join this company and be part of a region where golf is so important.”
Justman and his wife, Jessy, reside in Myrtle Beach.

About National Golf Management Company
The National Golf Management Company was formed in February 2012 with the merger of Burroughs and Chapin Golf Management (B&C) and Myrtle Beach National Company (MBN), making the new company one of the 15 largest golf course management companies in the United States. It is far and away the largest management company on the Grand Strand and one of the leading golf course companies in the Southeast. The merger brought together a total of 23 Myrtle Beach area golf courses.
Burroughs and Chapin Golf Management was formed in 1999, and its list of courses includes Myrtle Beach’s oldest course, Pine Lakes Country Club – the Myrtle Beach area’s first course (circa 1927), and Tidewater Golf Club, a unanimous selection as “Best New Course in America” when it opened in 1990. But the history of the company’s other interests, including real estate in and around Myrtle Beach, dates back more than 100 years. The lineage of the company is traced to F.G. Burroughs and Simeon B. Chapin.
Myrtle Beach National Company was formed in 1971 with the construction of the Arnold Palmer-designed 54-hole golf complex, which includes the West Course, SouthCreek and King’s North. Other courses of distinction include Long Bay Club, Pawleys Plantation and Willbrook Plantation.
