Centennial, Colo. (March 22, 2012) – Patrick Nuber, the Manager of Teaching Quality at GolfTEC Headquarters, is the 2011 Teacher Of The Year in the Colorado Section of the Professional Golfers Association of America.
Nuber, 30, from Idabel, Okla., is a graduate of Mississippi State University, graduating in 2004 with a degree in marketing. He began his professional career with GolfTEC in 2005, as a coach at the Denver Tech Center, and two years later was named manager of the Instruction Center in Golden, Colo.
Established as a premier instructor in the region, Nuber has given more than 11,000 individual lessons and is active in a variety of PGA section golf and business programs. In November of 2011 Nuber was promoted to his current position at GolfTEC headquarters, where he assists in training new coaches, while continuing to instruct a select number of longtime students, as well as several budding junior competitors.
“I still enjoy getting golfers to the next stage of their game,” Nuber said. “But part of the fun now is being a teacher who helps teachers get started in the business.”
Nuber lives in Littleton, Colo., with his wife and their young son.
Nuber joins the growing list of GolfTEC certified coaches who have been honored by their peers in the industry. He is one of four winners of the 2011 PGA Section Teacher of the Year Award, joining Brendan Locke of the Wisconsin PGA Section, Nick Paez of the Northern Ohio PGA Section and James Kinney of the Nebraska PGA Section, who has won for the fourth time. Together they bring GolfTEC’s all-time total of PGA and LPGA Section Teacher of the Year awards to 15.
