CARLSBAD, CA. – Polara Golf Company (www.polaragolf.com) announced today that veteran PGA Tour Professional Donnie Hammond has signed an agreement to endorse the company’s revolutionary self-correcting golf balls and will appear in a new television commercial that starts the week of April 2nd.
Over the past 33 years, Donald Hammond has played on the PGA, Nationwide, and Champions Tour. Hammond was born in Frederick, Maryland. He attended Jacksonville University in Florida and was a member of the golf team. He turned pro in 1979 and joined the PGA Tour in 1983. Hammond earned his qualifying medal by a record 14 strokes in the 1982 Qualifying Tournament at TPC-Sawgrass. Hammond won two PGA Tour events in his career: The 1986 Bob Hope Chrysler Classic and the 1989 Texas Open. In winning his second PGA Tour title by 7 strokes (258) over Paul Azinger, he came within one stroke of the then-Tour scoring record. His best finish in a major is a T-5 at the 1992 British Open. During his PGA Tour career, he amassed 40 Top-10 Finishes and began playing on the Champions Tour in 2007.
Hammond is featured in Polara’s latest television commercial endorsing their self-correcting golf balls that reduce hooks and slices up to 75%. The revolutionary game improvement technology of the Polara golf balls transforms hooks and slices into longer, straighter shots, eliminating one of the major frustrations suffered by most recreational golfers.
“Polara’s self-correcting golf balls are exactly what every recreational golfer out there is looking for,” said Hammond, “a quick fix for their game. Golf is supposed to be fun, and not everyone has the time or skill it takes to practice and improve their golf game. Polara’s self-correcting golf balls eliminate some of the frustration, speed up play and make the game fun again. This is the biggest advancement in game improvement technology to come along in the last hundred years.”
Polara Golf is offering four different Self-Correcting golf balls for 2012 – the original Ultimate StraightTM and Ultimate Straight XSTM and the new advanced XDTM and XDSTM.
The original Ultimate Straight™ and Ultimate Straight XS™ golf balls are designed for golfers whose #1 priority is to control hooks or slices. The radical sidespin-reducing characteristics of the Ultimate Straight™ and Ultimate Straight XS™ correct wayward shots by up to 75%.
The new advanced XDTM and XDSTM golf balls correct hooks and slices up to 50% and have a higher, more traditional trajectory which enables golfers to achieve Extra Distance.
“We gave the new XD™ and XDS™ golf balls a different lift and drag profile to make the balls fly higher, resulting in more carry distance,” said David Felker, PhD, and Head of Technology for Polara Golf. “Now recreational golfers can choose the ball that is best suited for their game, the original Ultimate StraightTM or Ultimate Straight XSTM with up to 75% Self-Correcting Technology, or the new advanced XDTM or XDSTM with up to 50% Self-Correcting Technology. Depending on how much slice & hook control a golfer needs and how a golfer hits the ball will dictate which Polara ball best fits their swing.”
Like the original Ultimate Straight™ and Ultimate Straight XS™ golf balls, the new XD™ and the XDS™ golf balls are designed to help golfers increase their enjoyment of the game, and are perfectly fine for the recreational golfer to use every day on the course.
All four Polara Golf balls are available at www.polaragolf.com and retail golf stores nationwide.
