New amenity course of Little Creek Casino Resort debuts at No. 4 on national media outlet’s best-in-state rankings
(SHELTON, WA) – Salish Cliffs Golf Club – a new amenity of Little Creek Casino Resort – has garnered distinction from Golfweek’s 2012 “America’s Best Courses You Can Play” in Washington, published in the March 9 edition and online at golfweek.com.
Salish Cliffs – located a short drive from Olympia and Seattle – was the lone new layout to land in the top 10 in Washington. The rankings come after Salish Cliffs was named the highest-rated casino course (No. 11 overall) to open in 2011 in the Golfweek’s “Top-50 Best Casino Courses” list. In addition, the course earned “Best New Course” accolades last year from Golfweek and GOLF Magazine.
“The Squaxin Island Tribe has aimed to make Salish Cliffs an outstanding resort amenity, so it’s extremely gratifying to see Salish Cliffs to continue accumulating these wonderful honors from such respected media,” said Head Professional David Kass, PGA. “And it makes us hopeful that this is the tip of the iceberg, given we just opened in September, 2011, and haven’t had our first full season yet.”
Golfweek’s rankings judge strength of routing, feature shaping, natural setting, greens, variety and memorability of holes, conditioning, maintenance, landscape management and other criteria. Golfweek sends approximately 400 “America’s Best” raters in search of the country’s finest golf courses.
Salish Cliffs – a Gene Bates-design offering stunning 360-degree views of Kamilche Valley – has received national acclaim for its stunning beauty and clever design since opening. It has also been praised for its reasonable rates and was included on Forbes.com’s list of the “12 Best Value Courses in the U.S.”
Greens fees through April are $75 (Monday-Thursday) and $85 (Friday-Sunday, holidays) for 18 holes and include golf, cart, range balls before round and all taxes. MVP Player’s Card Holders receive $5 off the regular price. Nine-hole and after-3p.m. rates are $45 (Monday-Thursday) and $55 (Friday-Sunday, holidays).
Tee times can be booked with a major credit card up to 10 days in advance at www.salish-cliffs.com. Advanced tee-time booking up to 60 days in advance is available for those with confirmed Little Creek Casino Resort hotel reservations by calling the golf shop at 360.462.3673.
