Castle Pines, CO (March 29, 2012) – The 2012 edition of “The Business of Golf – What Are You Thinking?” was just released. It is available in hardback, e-pub and e-pdf version at www.golfconvergence.com and www.amazon.com.
Since the book was written, many things within the industry have changed. We have updated this book, incorporating 410 edits and 35 updated slides. We have added pages on social media, brought current the debate between the NGCOA and the Golf Channel, and have added some new best-practice pictures, such as the Labyrinth at Bandon Dunes. We also added many more examples of how applying the lessons in the book have positively impacted the financial return at numerous golf courses.
The 2010 edition won an ING Media Outstanding Achievement Award and the 2011 Independent Publisher Bronze Medal Award for Business/Career/Sales books. More than 1,000 copies, including e-books, were purchased in 13 countries.
The book and its associated classroom materials are being utilized by 9 colleges and universities: PGA National Training Academy – United Kingdom, Clemson University – PGM Program, University of Wisconsin – Stout PGM Program, Golf Academy of America, Keiser College, Holland College – Canadian PGM Program, Humber College – Canadian PGM Program, Western New England College, and the United States Sports Academy. One of the reasons for the popularity of the book is that we host LIVE WEBINARS with contemporary insights based on recently completed client engagements.
We believe the book has been well-accepted because it presents an overview of the entire golf industry as well as a formula to create a winning strategic vision for golf courses to use to maximize their investment return.
The author, J. J. Keegan, has a simple wish – that you have applied the lessons in the textbook to enhance the customer experience and increase your net income by more than 12%. Doesn’t a $100 investment to make over $25,000 seem like a good deal?
