Popular two-hour “Grill Room” golf program features Bob Bubka and Alex Miceli on PGA Tour Radio XM Channel 93 and Sirius 208
April 5, 2012, Daufuskie Island, S.C. – Haig Point Golf Club will be featured on Sirius/XM radio’s “The Grill Room” golf program the weekend of April 14-15, with special personality interviews that will showcase the award-winning Club and the lifestyle of Daufuskie Island, located off the coast of Hilton Head, S.C. The program airs weekly on the PGA Network Channel, which is XM 93 and Sirius 208
“I’ve never seen a property quite like Haig Point, with such a pristine setting and all the elements to create a great golf course,” said architect Rees Jones, who designed Haig Point’s signature course. The course has since been included in lists for “America’s 100 Greatest Courses” and “Top 100 In The World.”
The show will be taped on April 13 and will air from 10 a.m.-12 noon Saturday, April 14, and three more times on Sunday, April 15. The co-hosts of the show are Bob Bubka and Alex Miceli, who have more than 40 years of golf coverage experience combined.
Bubka has authored several golf books and is known as the “Voice of World Golf Radio.” Miceli, nicknamed “Bow Tie” for the signature bow tie he usually wears on his television appearances, is a senior writer for Golfweek and a frequent contributor to the Golf Channel. He contributes often to the Golf Channel’s “Morning Drive” and “On The Range” shows, and is part of its PGA Tour coverage team.
The show’s light-hearted banter includes Tour player interviews and commentary on everything from whether Tiger Woods will win another major championship to whether or not long putters should be banned in the game. And it is rare when Bubka and Miceli agree on anything.
“We are pleased to have the chance to showcase our setting and Haig Point’s Club to “Grill Room” listeners all around the globe,” said Randall Page, Haig Point COO and general manager. “Being on an island without a bridge, Haig Point offers a unique experience and a distinctive lifestyle that we are proud to share.”
Haig Point is located on Daufuskie Island, a place where golf carts are used as the normal means of transportation. Haig Point’s 400-plus members are as diverse as the land itself, and many have international backgrounds. Rich in natural beauty, Haig Point embraces southern family living, is respectful of its rich history and offers endless recreational opportunities.
