The PuttingZone welcomes Ryan Vermeer of Oak Hills Country Club, Omaha NE, as the 117th Certified PuttingZone Coach.
Vermeer played collegiate golf at Kansas University, where he was two-time All American (1999 and 2000), and helped his Jayhawks team win its first-ever Big 12 Conference Championship in 1999. At KU, Vermeer set the individual record with a round of 63. After KU, Ryan turned professional in 2000 and played on the Nationwide Tour, the eGolf Tour, and other mini-tours. A native of Spencer IA and married raising a family at age 34, Vermeer now joins his father Bob Vermeer at Oak Hills CC as a teaching professional in the PGA and will be playing in PGA competition when not teaching.
Geoff Mangum, founder of the PuttingZone, said, “Ryan Vermeer is an excellent young teacher and has a great record as an All-American at Kansas University and as a young professional. His teaching facility at Oak Hills CC is probably the best in Omaha if not in all of eastern Nebraska. Along with Alex Carper in Lincoln, the PuttingZone is now very well represented in Nebraska and we look forward to teaching players and other teachers all about the four skills of putting!”
