Smith brings to the FOURTEEN GOLF sales force a diverse record of work experience. He understands retail as he was a buyer who was also responsible for merchandise planning, ordering and the management of inventory. To always stay competitive in his field, Smith is also a certified club fitter for Titliest, Cobra, Ping, Wilson, Callaway, TaylorMade, Nike, Mizuno and KZG.
According to FOURTEEN GOLF COO Marcy Kamoda, “DeMargo is a great addition to the team. His eagerness to succeed combined with his knowledge of golf equipment is going to make him one of our most successful salesperson to date, we’re sure of it.”
For the past ten years Smith has dedicated his career to the golf industry. After playing collegiate golf at San Diego State University, he worked his way from the sales floor to the fitting area at the Admiral Baker Golf Course in San Diego where he became a club fitting specialist and enjoyed club repair as well. He also appreciated a three year tenure as a golf shop assistant at Sea & Air Golf Course where he expanded his experience to include supervision of the outside staff. Prior to becoming an independent sales representative, Smith also expanded his talents to include teaching and became a Master Club Builder as well as Golf Shop Manager at Golf Etc.
“In addition to DeMargo’s understanding of hard goods, he is experienced with working with boutique or burgeoning golf equipment companies. He also carries an innovative and high performance putter line – STX Putters. There is a synergy between smaller companies that DeMargo will most certainly take advantage of,” adds Kamoda.
