Oneida Nation Homelands (April 23, 2012) – Whether you’re a weekend golfer or a tour pro, the AimPoint Green Reading Program at Turning Stone Resort Casino will transform your game by teaching you the one aspect of putting that is most overlooked: exactly where to aim.
Returning to Turning Stone with a series of clinics scheduled in May, this revolutionary green-reading method is based on the highly accurate, Emmy Award winning AimPoint Technology, as seen on the Golf Channel.
One of only three sites in the state of New York with an AimPoint Green Reading Program, Turning Stone Resort offers clinics that take the guesswork out of putting. Students discover the most effective and reliable ways to determine the direction and precise amount of break for any putt.
“The success we are having with the AimPoint program has been unbelievable,” said Marty Nowicki, a Turning Stone PGA professional and certified AimPoint instructor. “People make putts from everywhere and can read every putt on the green.”
Held at the Shenendoah Course under the direction of Nowicki, each clinic is three hours and limited to a maximum of eight students. Clinic instruction covers the following key elements:
• How to accurately identify slope
• How slope direction and grade affect break
• How the golfer’s position on the slope influences break and speed
• How to identify your position on the slope
• How to determine precise break amounts based on position
• How to handle changing or multiple slopes
• How position relates to speed control
• How to determine optimum approach shot strategies
Clinics are to be held the first three Saturdays of May (May 5, 12 and 19) from 9 a.m. to noon. Each clinic is $200 per person. Private and small group lessons can be scheduled in advance on other days, with a minimum of three students required.
