April 26th ‘Women’s Night’ features clinics, contests and more
AUSTIN – Golfsmith International Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: GOLF), the nation’s largest specialty golf retailer, is inviting millions of female golfers and those who aspire to play better to one of its 84 stores for a special Women’s Night event on April 26th from 6-9 pm. The coast to coast event will provide participants with a chance to hone their skills, learn new aspects of the game, network, win prizes and scoop up great in-store deals.
Golfsmith has also re-designed retail space in 17 of the company’s spacious locations by adding women-specific boutiques. The women’s “store within a store” offers a variety of women’s products from clubs and accessories to apparel and shoes. The dedicated space and new layouts coincide with Golfsmith’s recent expansion plans for 10 new store openings and four relocations this year. By the end of 2012, Golfsmith will serve customers in 89 locations nationwide.
“Women are an important demographic in growing the game of golf.” said Marty Hanaka, CEO. “When you take into account more than 50% of the U.S. population are women, yet less than 20% of total golfers are female, there is huge opportunity to get women more involved in this great game. Our Women’s Night event is a special venue to welcome new players into the sport and to energize those already involved in the game with skills challenges, clinics and great deals throughout the store.”
During Women’s Night, anyone in attendance can participate in a variety of clinics, contests and one-night only promotions. The first 50 Women’s Night attendees at each Golfsmith store will receive a variety of gifts — from headwear and socks to water bottles and golf balls. All attendees can enter for a chance to win products from Callaway and are welcome to participate in a free lesson clinic by GolfTEC and a putting contest powered by YES! Putters. Three attendees at each location will walk away with Callaway product. Refreshments will be served at most locations.
Golfsmith’s Women’s Night will also have vendor reps on-hand in select stores to assist Golfsmith certified fitting specialists in fitting customers during the event. They will use state-of-the-art-technology to help customers find the right clubs for their games in Golfsmith’s range bays or custom-fitting studios.
