Lagging a 59-foot eagle putt to 19-inches on the 2nd playoff hole Sunday, the 2011 PGA Championship runner-up made birdie, beating a former world #1 player to win his first PGA Tour event. Birdies on 7, 8, and 10 were capped off by a 44- foot par saving putt on the 16th, highlighting his Sunday 70 and 19-under par total. For the week, the former Auburn Tiger made 21 birdies and finished 2nd in putts per round (26.3) and 6th in strokes-gained (+1.534), proving his SuperStroke Slim Lite was key in his victory.
SuperStroke grips were also played by 2 other top 10 players. A 3-time PGA Tour winner and Texas A&M alumni finished T4 using a SuperStroke UltraSlim. This player also tied the course record on Saturday, needing only 24 putts to shoot 64. The top 5 was his best finish of the year and his first tournament using the SuperStroke UltraSlim putter grip.
At the Zurich, 16 players used SuperStroke putter grips and earned over $1.8 million in the process. These results continue to prove why SuperStroke grip technology is #1 on the PGA Tour.
Total won in 2012 (to date): $8.6 million
