(LYNN HAVEN, FL) – Panama Country Club – managed by Billy Casper Golf – will host the 85th Annual W.C. Sherman Men’s Invitational from Thursday, May 3 through Sunday, May 6.
The longest-running and largest men’s amateur competition in the region, the 72-hole stroke-play tournament attracts leading amateur golfers from Southeast U.S. Entry is $250 per golfer and includes greens and cart fees for four rounds; breakfast, lunch and dinner daily; a Cutter and Buck shirt; AHEAD hat and prizes for top finishers.
“Panama Country Club is honored to host this historic tournament each year,” says Ted Buckley, Tournament Chairman. “The course is in excellent condition and will provide a tough, but fair, test for all competitors.”
Constructed in 1927 by legendary architect Donald Ross, the 18-hole, par-72, 6,621-yard championship golf course is routed through the natural environment. The classic, eminently-playable design offers subtle contours and narrow- to medium-width fairways which impress golfers of all abilities. Resurfaced with Champion Bermuda grass in 2005, greens are strategically sized and indicative of the era in which they were built.
Set on the Inter-Coastal waterways of the Gulf of Mexico, Panama Country Club offers stunning views and unforgettable sunsets. The 12,000 square-foot clubhouse – with pro shop, fine dining and grill room – is the perfect spot to call home as a member or for weddings, outings and other social engagements. A swimming pool rounds-out the amenities.
