Support for one-day tournaments at top Central Florida courses includes special deals for participants
Tampa, Fla. (May 1, 2012) – GolfTEC and the Florida State Golf Association (FSGA) announce that GolfTEC-the world leader in golf instruction-has become the title sponsor for the FSGA’s 2012 One-Day Series of amateur tournaments.
The seven GolfTEC improvement centers in Tampa and Orlando are sponsoring tournaments in the Central Region, 61 events open to any golfer with a Florida GHIN handicap index of 24.0 or less (34.0 or less for women) and played on some of the finest courses in the state. Among this year’s sites are: Black Diamond Ranch, World Woods, Innisbrook Resort, Walt Disney World, Bay Hill Club and Lodge, TPC Tampa Bay, TPC Prestancia, and Golden Ocala Golf Club.
“I cannot think of a better partner than the FSGA,” said Mark Nixon, President of GolfTEC-Tampa. “Their tournaments are well run and they have selected some of the best courses in the Tampa/Orlando areas for this year’s events. We are thrilled to be a partner and supporter of the FSGA.”
The One-Day Event Series Presented by GolfTEC began in mid-March and will run through the end of 2012. The full-day tournaments are 18 holes of individual net stroke play within flights (except gross flight); players use 100% of their course handicap. Entrance fees range from $45-$100 depending on the venue, and include golf, cart, range balls, and prizes.
“The competitors are passionate golfers who care about how they play and where they play,” says Nixon. “And GolfTEC cares about them, so all participants will be offered special deals at the GolfTEC Improvement Centers in and around Tampa and Orlando. We want to help them play better, enjoy the game more, and as the FSGA says, have a fun time on great courses. That’s GolfTEC’s goal for all its students.”
GolfTEC lessons are taught one-on-one in private, indoor bays that maximize the learning experience. GolfTEC’s Certified Personal Coaches use the company’s proprietary g-SWING system, which combines digital video with motion measurement to help students improve skills and increase their enjoyment of the game. The personalized Player Performance Center allows students to review their lessons-including full video-anytime and anywhere over the internet.
GolfTEC is also the acknowledged leader in custom club fitting. Its database matching system compares a player’s swing to more than 1,000 club options. GolfTEC coaches have completed extensive club fitting certification programs accredited by GolfTEC, the PGA, and top club manufacturers.
