May 4, 2012 – Birmingham, AL – Honours Golf Company is pleased to announce that Matthew Devine has been appointed to golf course superintendent for Limestone Springs Golf Club. Honours Golf currently manages this 18-hole, semi-private course located north of Birmingham in Oneonta, Alabama.

Devine brings with him over seven years of experience and education in the turf care industry. Before joining Limestone Springs, Devine served as assistant superintendent for Shoal Creek Country Club, which has been named to “Top 100 Courses in America” and rated the “No. 1 Course in Alabama” by Golf Digest. At this exclusive private facility, Devine oversaw all course renovation projects, as well as assisted in managing maintenance for the entire grounds and supervising maintenance personnel. Devine was also instrumental in course preparation for the 2008 USGA Junior Amateur Championship, 2010 Southern Amateur Tournament and the 2011 Champions Tour event – The Regions Tradition.
Devine started his career as an intern for Orchard Park Country Club located in Orchard Park, New York and Shoal Creek Country Club in Birmingham, Alabama. After receiving his Certificate in Turfgrass Management from Pennsylvania State University, Devine returned to Shoal Creek Country Club where he held various roles. He is a member of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA) and the Alabama Golf Course Superintendents Association (AGCSA). He is also a graduate from Siena College in Loundonville, New York and is fluent in Spanish.
In his new role, Devine will be responsible for overseeing all course maintenance projects, upholding Honours’ high turf care standards and providing exceptional playing conditions at Limestone Springs.
