YOURcourse offers expertise in online booking technology to help courses increase revenue, build brand
MESA, Ariz. – Don Rea, owner and operator of Augusta Ranch Golf Club in Mesa, Ariz., announced today the formation of YOURCourse, a golf course consulting company that specializes in management of online tee time platforms and third-party reseller relationships.
The goal of YOURCourse is to help golf courses not only increase RevPAR (revenue through available rounds), but to maximize brand loyalty with its customers by taking control of their tee sheet from third party resellers.
“Demand-based pricing is the future of golf and there are many great online tee time platforms on the market, but they can be confusing and time consuming to manage correctly,” Rea said. “As a golf course owner, I know the ins and outs of the technology and how to best utilize it to help increase revenue and take control of your brand.”
As the Founder of YOURCourse, Rea will oversee operations, business development and long-term strategic planning. He also oversees the day-to-day operations of Augusta Ranch, which he purchased in July of 2008.
Rea has more than 14 years of experience in the golf industry and became a Class – A member of the PGA of America in 2002. He had stints at the Golf Club at Eagle Mountain, which was ranked the No. 1 Public Golf Course in 2006 and 2007 under his direction, and at Platinum Golf Properties, where he was Senior Vice President of Operation and Business Development. He is a certified PGA Professional in General Management and serves as the Vice President for the Southwest Section PGA and chairs the Southwest Section’s Finance Committee.
“In my past experience with a third-party reseller I realized that the relationship was more beneficial to helping their brand, not mine,” Rea said. “That is a big problem out there today and one of the main reasons I started YOURCourse – to help courses not only maximize revenue by managing their third-party tee time reservation system, but also helping to grow the golf course brand by taking back the customer database from reseller booking engines and taking more control of the operation.”
All YOURCourse clients will get a thorough evaluation of their current practices, recommendations on how to alleviate and correct problem areas, along with educating staff on managing and maximizing their third-party reseller relationships and strategy.
“We don’t just want to come in and take the entire process over, we feel it’s important to educate the owners, operators and staff,” Rea said. “Some may not have the time to manage this at all, and that is one service we offer. But some may want to manage their own inventory at some point in the future, and we are more than happy to instruct them and be there when they have questions.”
