Golfers Encouraged To Join Golf To End Cancer Social Networking Site

May 11, 2012

Orlando, FL – (May 9, 2012) Golfers are invited to join Golf to End Cancer’s social networking web site at www.golftoendcancer.com, which promotes the efforts of individuals and organizations in golf to create a cancer-free world. Launched at the PGA Fall Show last year, the site is hoping to increase membership.

The site offers networking with others in the golf industry with a common goal to end cancer. It also offers wellness tips, cancer prevention articles and videos, event listings, and product reviews. Membership is free, and is open to all in the golf industry, including golfers, golf courses, golf professionals, golf manufacturers or distributors, and retailers.

“Our web site is membership-driven, which means the more golfers who sign up, the more we all will get out of it,” said founder A.J. Ali. “We hope to have 10,000 members by the end of this year, as well as area managers running wellness day events at golf courses in all 50 states.”

While this goal may sound ambitious to some, A.J. knows it is not impossible. “Cancer affects everyone. We all know someone who has gone through it, and we all want to put an end to this devastating illness in our lifetime. By joining together, we can make a huge impact in the world of golf,” said Ali.

Once a golfer creates a profile on the G2EC site, he or she can create a “My Page” which allows sharing of blog posts, pictures, music, comments, events, and more.

“Networking is key to our grass roots effort. I urge all those in the golf industry to join our group to help put an end to cancer,” said Ali.

About Golf to End Cancer

Golf to End Cancer (G2EC) is a program of Marathon of Miracles (MOM), a nonprofit which focuses on wellness and cancer prevention. Launched in 2011 at the PGA Fall Expo in Las Vegas, G2EC is a movement offering wellness and cancer prevention education to golfers through its web site (www.golftoendcancer.com) and at G2EC Wellness Day events. MOM and G2EC were founded by A.J. Ali and his wife Jane, a breast cancer survivor. The two hope to bring wellness and cancer prevention education into golf in order to reach business and community leaders who can reach the masses.
