Located at The St. Regis Monarch Beach Resort in South Orange County on the edge of the Pacific Ocean, Monarch Beach Golf Links features a scenic Robert Trent Jones Jr. designed layout that was recently recognized as one of Golf Magazine’s Premier Golf Resorts for 2012. Lohman is responsible for all golf operations, agronomy, golf marketing, tournament/event sales and merchandising for this oceanfront resort facility that was recently ranked as one of the Top 75 Best Golf Resorts in North America by Golf Digest.
Originally from Palm Springs, California, Lohman brings a wealth of Southern California experience to Monarch Beach. Prior to his appointment at Monarch Beach, Lohman was the Director of Golf at the Tom Fazio-designed Oak Creek Golf Club in Irvine, California, the sister course for Pelican Hills Golf Resort. He has also served as general manager at the Black Gold Golf Club in Yorba Linda, California. Lohman has a history with OB Sports Golf Management as he worked at Cimarron Golf Resort in Palm Springs, Trophy Lake Golf & Casting in the Seattle area of Washington and the Reserve Golf Club in the Portland area of Oregon. An accomplished player, Lohman played collegiately for U.C.L.A where he earned a bachelor degree in International Relations/Political Science. Lohman is a Class A, P.G.A Professional that has garnered a number of awards including 2008 “Golf Professional of the year and 2011 public/resort retailer of the year from the Southern California Metro Chapter of the P.G.A of America. He is a accomplished golf instructor, featured writer and contributor for Southland Golf Magazine, PGA Magazine, California Golf News and Travel and Golf Champion (Southern California-based Korean Golf publication) and continues to be active within the Southern California community. Lohman resides in Newport Beach, California with his wife and two daughters.
